"Big blog guy, eh?"

Well, quite the opposite. Never been one to browse the world of blogs so it never crossed my mind to start a blog, despite my love for writing. It wasn't until my friend Lukáš challenged me to start one that I started to consider the value. He started a website called Atlas Athletics (link below) where he offers guidance for nutrition, mindset, and fitness. To him, I say: challenge accepted!

There is a beauty in archiving. I love the idea that years from now when my kids/kids-kids want to know more about Luke Raley, they will have a catalog of tangible artifacts to bring life to my spirit. That is why I am sharing podcasts and blogs and putting little to no effort into marketing. I'm not so concerned with people listening/reading into my every thought. I know it won't add much value to their life. That's because the value of these projects is not for the average person; but for the people who have a unique desire to dig deep into my life in search of the truth of my character.

It's not easy communicating thoughts concisely and articulately and sharing them with people. It requires a diligent amount of effort to sit in front of a computer and not only think of something worth writing but write it. Carefully crafting sentences to flow and picking your brain for better words is why I love songwriting; It's like solving a puzzle. Writing is a fun and challenging way to express creativity and bring life into the world.

We are now in the world of Chat GTP and other language processing machines that I've only seen work a few times, but been blown away by the capabilities. I couldn't imagine being in college with tools like this out there. Who the hell would spend the time writing an essay if you could just type your prompt into a text box and *POOF* a well-written paper spits out? It's easy to ask: how can we compete with AI? Creativity my friends. Lukáš and I recently asked it to produce a melody, and it said "it lacked the creativity to produce a melody."Now I'm not sure exactly what generation of AI this was, but I'm willing to bet that creativity will continue to be left to us humans, which is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Leave the pencil pushing to the robots, we got worlds to build!
